I see life as full of turning points.

Every day is shaped by small choices: what we have for breakfast, whether we go for a run or to the cinema, which direction we take. Most seem ordinary. Yet together, they shape our lives.

Alongside them come larger turning points. Some we choose. Others arrive unexpectedly. Some begin quietly, with a question, a new possibility or the sense that something is ready to change. Turning points are part of every life.

For those of us fortunate enough to live with safety and choice, that freedom is a profound privilege. It does not make every decision easy. But it means our lives may hold more possibilities than we can initially see. I have come to believe that every turning point carries wisdom and possibility. Curiosity helps us uncover both.

Two turning points that shaped me

For more than 20 years, I worked at adidas across countries, cultures and areas of responsibility. Working there had always been a dream. When you have even a little passion for sport, it can feel like heaven. I was able to learn, create, travel across the globe, build businesses and lead talented teams. I received opportunities far beyond anything I had expected and met people who shaped how I understand leadership, collaboration and human potential.

Among the many turning points of those years, two changed my direction in very different ways. The first was one I did not choose.

My career was in full swing. Only six months earlier, I had been promoted and given the opportunity to lead a wonderful team of 15 highly talented people. Then, from one day to the next, I was diagnosed with cancer. At first, I was simply trying to make sense of what was happening. Over time, the questions shifted. From What does all this mean? to more profound questions: Is the path I am on still the right one? What do I actually want from life? There was no sudden answer and no immediate reinvention. While I recovered and continued my work, the questions stayed with me.

The second turning point was one I chose. A few years later, I was offered the opportunity to leave adidas. It was a rare opportunity to choose change from a position of strength, not necessity. Obviously there were a million reasons to stay. Work was meaningful and familiar, filled with extraordinary people, experiences and memories. It had been part of my identity for more than two decades. But the previous years had also given me a million reasons to become curious about something new. So I chose to leave with deep gratitude, a beautiful bouquet of memories and curiosity about what might come next.

The first turning point changed the questions I was asking. The second changed the direction I chose. That choice also created the space from which Becoming Possible could grow.

From curiosity to coaching

My path towards coaching did not begin with a plan to start a new career. It began with curiosity about questions and thoughts I had barely encountered before.

What followed was surprising and humbling. I discovered how meaningful it can be to accompany another person through questions, uncertainty and change. To offer a trusted space. To listen deeply. And to witness possibilities that once felt distant begin to become real.

My professional career taught me about responsibility, performance, leadership, complexity and change. Coaching expanded that world. It deepened my appreciation of human emotion, the wisdom of the body, the importance of relationships and what can become possible through trust and deep listening.

Today, I bring both worlds into my coaching: more than 20 years of leadership experience and an integral, whole-person understanding of how people develop, relate and act.

Certified Integral Development Coach

I completed the Thirdspace Professional Coaching Course in June 2026 and was certified as an Integral Development Coach. The year-long programme is offered by Thirdspace in partnership with New Ventures West and is recognised by the International Coaching Federation as a Level 2 Coach Training Programme.

Integral Development Coaching works with the whole person: our thoughts, emotions, bodies, relationships, habits and actions. The programme did much more than prepare me to coach. It changed how I listen, relate and understand what it means for a person to grow.

Life beyond coaching

Beyond coaching, I live a life of many roles: father, husband, friend, entrepreneur and lifelong learner.

I am also a co-owner of kleiderhelden, a small apparel brand that has become a wonderful place for learning, experimentation and joy. It allows me to stay close to the realities of building something meaningful and to explore how products can be created with greater care for our planet and greater fairness for everyone involved.

Advisory work

Alongside my coaching work, I occasionally support selected organisations and projects in an advisory capacity. My experience includes brand, sustainability, product, marketing, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration. Advisory work is considered individually and begins with a conversation.
